Barbara Ann Corcoran

Barbara Ann Corcoran is an American businesswoman from America. The Corcoran Group is a New York City-based real estate brokerage. In 2001, the company was sold to NRT at $66 million. Corcoran left the company shortly thereafter. Corcoran is one of ABC’s initial Shark Tank investors. Since her inception, she has been in every season of Shark Tank. By February 2020, she had signed 53 deals. The largest of these was a $350,000 investment to Coverplay at 40 percent. Corcoran was second of the family of 10 children, and was raised in Edgewater. Florence Corcoran's mother was a homemaker. Her father, Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. was a bouncing from job to job throughout Corcoran's youth. Her family frequently depended on food delivery services for free from a local grocer. Corcoran still remembers her father as someone who would drink sometimes and treated her mother with disrespect. Corcoran struggled throughout her schooling, later learning that she had dyslexia. Corcoran was a student at a Catholic primary school within her area and began the high school year at St. Cecilia High School, Englewood. After failing several courses in her first year of high school, Corcoran transferred to Leonia High School and graduated as a D student.
